Ankama’s shaking things up a bit for DOFUS subscribers. It turns out that there are going to be a new clan of character in the game called the Magik Riktus Clan. If you happen to be a subscriber, you’re in luck! You get a gift, a free bandit weapon that will allow your level 30 or higher character to become a Magik Riktus Bandit when he or she equips it. Free players - sorry.

There are four kinds of Riktus Bandit, Archer, Sorcerer, Swashbuckling and Wandering, and each one has 20 unique spells/skills to use. On top of that, the weapon that the bandits wield deal air, earth fire and water damage all at once, so you’ll have a good chance of being constantly super effective. When your character’s a bandit, they’ll only have access to bandit weapons and abilities, so its a good thing they’re so unique.

When your character’s in the Magik Riktus Bandit mode, be ready to do some level grinding. The experience earned as a bandit only applies to the bandit levels and abilities. The good news is, you don’t have to worry about ability points. After 10 levels, the spells go up a level. So once you reach the bandit level cap of 50, your spells will be all maxed out at level six.

There’s also a page on the DOFUS kamas site discussing the Magik Riktus Bandits, but as of 12:09pm CST (February 6, 2008), the site’s down. So if you want to see more official information, you’ll have to wait.

DOFUS kamas is a Flash, strategic MMORPG that is primarily pay-to-play, with incredibly limited free-to-play options. It can be played on Linux, Mac and Windows PCs though, which means it’s incredibly accessible.
